Breaking News: Kananaskis Country Golf Course just posted this message on their Facebook page:

We are very excited to tell you that the Government of Alberta announced this morning that Kananaskis Country will reopen! Tourism, Parks, and Recreation Minister Richard Starke has confirmed that the Mt. Kidd & Mt. Lorette golf courses will be restored, along with other Provincial Parks infrastructure in Kananaskis Country.

We hope to see work begin later this summer or early fall so we can get back up and running as soon as possible. It’s expected to take 2-3 years to rebuild the courses.

Thank you to all of our supporters and well-wishers from Alberta and across the world who have reached out to us since the flood on June 20, 2013. We can’t tell you how much we appreciate your kind words and stories about how important the future of our courses are to you and your families.

Here is the official press release from the Government of Alberta regarding the very positive news about the restoration of both the Mt. Kidd and Mt. Lorette golf courses: http://alberta.ca/release.cfm?xID=36846E51D59FF-E537-553C-C5841606EDCF4431

I’m very excited about this amazing news! Kananaskis Country Golf Course is one of my favourite courses. There was a lot of fear that the course would never re-open after the devastating flood in 2013. Here’s a bunch of flood pictures and an unbelievable flood video.
